Facebook Official

Facebook has a big play in people’s relationships.  I hear everyday teenagers saying, oh you guys need to make it “Facebook official”.  The teenage world today is spending a lot more time than they should be on Facebook.  If you’re not making your relationship Facebook public then it’s truly not official.  The problems that come from Facebook can cause a huge issue in a relationship.  Not only a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship but a friendship.  Many people don’t realize the damage caused by posting personal information on these types of social pages.
When you are posting your general information and letting people know whether you’re single or in a relationship, every time the status changes people will ask you millions of questions.  If you recently did just break up with a boyfriend or girlfriend who wants to answer all these silly questions, when truly it’s no one else’s business but your own.
Social network sites are here so people can do exactly what they are meant to do.  Give people the opportunity to meet new people and to keep in contact with their family members.  But, it seems to have changed into so much more for many users.  I can’t deny it; somehow I’ve been sucked into the whirlpool.  I usually use it to speak to family; but occasionally I will catch myself “Facebook stalking” someone (never a good thing to truly admit ha-ha).

  1. Great image, Jessica. I think this is going to be a very rich topic. You're going to have to do some reading to figure out exactly what you want to say... I'm looking forward to doing some brainstorming together!
