Eat Better Do Better-Jamie Oliver

I've recently done a lot of research for many different types of subjects for these papers for English.  I have been completely lost the past couple weeks with these papers we are writing and find it a process.  But, in doing research I have came across Jamie Oliver and his amazing work he is trying to do for children. I love the modo "Eat better do better" it is such a simple idea and concept but means so much and couldn't be more true on so many levels.

I love the work that Jamie is doing for the people of the UK.  The effort that he is putting into children of the future is priceless; I just wish that America would wake up and do the same.  I feel after reading these websites that Jamie has provided that there is so much more that we could be doing to make our children's lunches better for them.  My daughter who is in Kindergarden and is very intelligent at knowing what is good for her and what is bad for her, but at the same time it isn't stopping her from wanting the junk food.  I believe that if schools put forth the effort that the UK is putting forth that children would know it's ok to try other foods out of the box.  It truly aggrevates me at the fact that money for this country is being spent on things that really don't mean anything.  The kind of junk that children are offered at school is not going to help them at all with their future.  Why can't we take a little money out and put it towards good use towards something that will make a difference in the future of our children, like the UK and Jamie Oliver's view towards childhood obesity and school lunches.

(So, I believe I got off subject ..I wish I could write like this and just go with it on my papers.)

  1. Think about the differences, Jessica, between writing your "papers" and writing the blogs posts. Why does one feel more natural than the other? Maybe trying to incorporate some of your "blogginess" into your papers would help free you from some of the anxiety you are experiencing.
